The Zune Wireless Remote is not necessary to enjoy your Zune, but it does come in handy. If you don't like being next to your Zune when its in a dock, you can hold on to the remote and use that.
Looks
The Zune Wireless Remote is a very slim and almost the same shape and size of a 1st gen ipod shuffle. Along with the another accessories for the Zune the Zune Wireless Remote is the same matte finish and is black. Along the bottom is a Zune logo printed on. The buttons are the Exact same as on the Zune, with the addition of four more buttons.
Performance
The Zune Wireless remote Preforms remarkably well for being a remote. The Zune Dock is a must for the Zune Wireless Remote to work. the controls are the exact same as on the Zune like I stated above with the addition of the volume buttons below the 5-Way Pad and the forward and backward skip buttons on the very top of the remotes front. The only problem is the Ir in the Zune Wireless Remote must Be pointed near the Zune Docks ir port in the front.
Features
The Zune Wireless Remote has all the same functions as a regular Zune would for controls with the exception of the 4 buttons I mentioned above. The battery is replaced from just sliding the bottom half of the remote down.
Overall
The Zune Wireless Remote is a great purchase (ONLY IF YOU BUY THE ZUNE DOCK!!!) if you are far away from your Zune and are lazy and don't want to get up... Hence why i got it. The addition of the buttons are useful but not necessary, and matches the Black Zune well...
Pros:same controls with extra buttons to streamline the process, decent wireless range, matte finish doesn't attract finger prints, works well with the Zune Dock only!, made for lazy people
Cons:comes in only matte black, user must point directly in the dock direction, expensive for just a remote...
PS:Remember it needs to be...
