Hello All,
I've got some questions and things of that nature that I would like someone to answer to help me out. Firstly, I have a 30GB IPod now and it's wonderful. It does everything that I really need and care about, but the problem is that storage wise, it's not really getting it. And the stratch factor as well plays into that.
Well I love the Zune. I've tinkered with it in stores and abso love it. So here's what I'm wondering.
1) I guess the program automatically imports files from the computer. Can this be turned off? And can you specify exactly what music you want to go onto the Zune? (I'm sure you can, but....)
2) If I delete the music on my computer, but it's on the Zune, can I take the songs from off the Zune and put them back on the computer? If not, does a program exist to do that?
3) Is it possible for the Zune to be registered with multiple computers? As long as the software is on the computer?
4) What is the name of the video files that it plays? Does anyone know of a program that can change multiple types of file formats to whatever the Zune plays? Or does the Zune program does that?
5) Is the Zune compatible with Vista? (It seems strange for it not to, but I don't know.) If not, does anyone know of a way around that?
These things are really the only things that are holding me back from going out to buy a Zune now, esp. #2.
Thanks for the help. |

Actually I lied, that's not the biggest problem that I have.
6) MAIN THING: The issue with DRM. I think I understand that, but just to clearify, DRM doesn't allow the Zune to play songs that are protected right? I can put on songs that I have downloaded from Limewire or like Torrents can't I? If not.... is there ANYTHING that I can do about that? |

1. Its called the "stop sync" button
2.Yeah, Do the Portable HDD mod and you'll be good as new.
3.Sadly no, it can only be registered to one computer. but can be accessed as a guest on others.
4. wmv and mp4. Truth be told i never got a mp4 file to work. Always had to convert.
5.Yes it is compatible
6. I download music all the time. its good to go. DRM is a no go search the web for ways around. |
