Do i need a zune accout to sync my music?

Hello everyone!

i just bought a new 80gb black v2 zune beacue my ipod harddrive died. i was just wondering if i need to have a zune account to sync my music because when i try to make an account, it say "you cant make an accout beacue of ure region." or sumthing like that (i live in austria). All i want to do is be able to sync my music.

Yon dont need an account to sync your zune buddy. just skip that part of the setup. Also, if you already have a hotmail or windows live adress, then just go to hotmail and change your location in the settings to USA and then you should be able to register for a zune account. Its what i did and i live in England, my brother in law did the same thing and he also has a Zune ID

hey,

thanks guys. sorry about my avatar. ill fix it. but about changing the hotmail account to USA it still says the same thing. Is the account only for buying music and podcasts, or do i need it to update my zune and stuff. I dont have to have it right?

You only need a Zune.net account for the social. everything else is cool. and since you live physically outside of the US you can create a zune card, but no music will show up on it Sad

so, yeah....um....what was i saying....Yeah, you dont need an account to operate your zune, you do need one for getting subscribed to your favourite podcasts. you will have to get them thru itunes and then sync the individual files thru the zune software and do it like that. At least thats how i would do it, there may be a better way but i dont know it!

Thanks so much for all your help. You gave me just the info i needed to know. I dont think i will make a zune account then. Ive tried so many times. STUPID MICROSOFT!!!!!!!

wait, when i registered my zune, i just used my hotmail account, like i do for all my 'live' shit, and it worked fine, i was able to dl music and podcasts for the 14day free trial no problems
