| Well, I don't know if this has been done, but I know it can be done, as a usb plug in from xbox usb to pc usb is nothing really but a gateway. However, I'm doing a more direct version of this. I'm taking the actual usb port from an xbox, and plan on wiring that into a high speed internal usb port into a motherboard. I won't be doing it on my main machine, but I'll be testing it on an old AMD machine that has front panel usb that will be taken out for the sake of this project. I don't have pics right now of it, because I honestly haven't made any progress except technical designs and concepts, problems, and all that. Basically paperwork on it, and I hope to get this done by the end of the month. If it works, I'll cut open a hole in the front panel of my case, so I can plug in an Xbox controller, because I personally prefer it over and controller, even the 360 pad. If you don't understand what I'm doing by how bad I explained it, I'll do some little paint doodles. Hope this goes well. |

Hold tha phone for a sec.
I think it wouldn't matter if you ripped a USB port directly from your Xbox and attached it to your motherboard. I mean, the Xbox 360 interacts with everything I plug in to it, keyboards, wireless adapters that don't need drivers, an old webcam that didn't need a driver, the Zune, etc. I plug in my wireless controller to my computer via USB and my computer recognizes it as an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, but there are no drivers for it. There are drivers for the wired variety, however. You can get a wireless antenna for the wireless controller that comes with a driver CD, and I tried it and it works on all of my games. This controller pwns! No deadspace in the control sticks.
But, if you want to attack it using this method, provide some schematics bro! I'm super interested (not sarcasm either, I actually am interested). _________________
