CPU and RAM are affected, usually the RAM Maxes out first, also depends on the quality of your output files, if you selected best quality then it will take longer than medium or poor quality. _________________

Makes sense, what are you using to rip from DVD? i use Clonedvd mobile, in my opinion its by far the best and supports hundreds of different devices including XBOX360 _________________

That's what I was going to say.
The conversion speed on my desktop is way faster than my laptop because of the processor having more cores, is faster, and the RAM is faster on the desktop than the laptop. I also use a combo of Encode360 and Movavi Online Converter (for Flash Vids.), they both are pretty good. _________________

The CPU most definilty has the largest effect on conversion speeds. I have never maxed out my RAM when converting and I have 2Gb on my laptop @667Mhz and 3Gb on my desktop at >800Mhz.
Some newer GPUs off load some of the work to them but the software has to know how to use them, just like not all will take advantage of multi-cores in the CPU. |
