I will be installing a 32gb CompactFlash card into my first generation Zune.
I saw the other thread about it, but it seems no one actually tried this. I'm fairly confident it will work, so I just ordered one of the ZIF to CF adapters.
I just ordered an iFlash ZIP to CF adapter, and also a 32gb CF card.
Currently my first generation Zune has an 80gb Toshiba 1.8" HDD installed.
If it doesn't work, then I'll use it to convert my friends ipod video to CF...no biggie.
So has anyone actually done this? Am I going to have the first ever 32gb FLASH Zune!?
Photos & results when the adapter gets here...
Cheers! _________________

sorry it took so long for the update...i've been traveling a lot lately...
anyway, looks like it doesn't work
it's hard to tell which way the ribbon goes into the ZIF connector...so i tried both and neither work. no matter which way it is mounted, when i power on the zune, it says to contact customer service. won't even let me go into restore mode or whatever.
i know the iflash unit & CF card are good because i installed them into an external usb drive enclosure that uses a zif connector, and when i plug it into my computer it shows up as a working 32gb drive.
would have been nice though, the zune weighed so much less with it in there!
photos just for fun:
everything laid out:
80gb hdd installed, iflash & 32gb cf card
installed facing up (didn't work)
installed facing down (didn't work)
