YOUR ZUNE IS NOT BROKEN!!!!!!!

this is my story and the remady.

If your zune just randomly died like mine.
It stopped working with no warning........i was navagating the menu and it frose.......so i gave it a moment ike it sometimes needs........zune start-up screen.......i thought "ok it does this somtimes."

It went from there to a "PLEASE WAIT......." screen, (screen number 3)

Then it went to a "Contact support......" screen (screen number 5)
This isnt alot of good when your in the uk........and to be honest the website is pants!

I tryed everything.......intill i found this short video on youtube...(really sorry, cant find the link.)

it just showed the button companation BACK+LEFT+CENTER

I had already tryed this combanation but i was doing wrong ......

When on screen 5 you must press BACK+UP to reset it.........

.........then on the ZUNE start up screen.....then BACK+LEFT+CENTER

you will have to hold this for a VERY long time for it to work.........
......then you will get to "connect to Pc to restore hardware" (screen 2)

thats IT ....... just follow the instrctions and there u go........

........u wil have to re-sync your content but i think u can cope.
(sorry for the life story)

when you say you need to hold BACK + LEFT + CENTER for a "very long time" how long do you mean? 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes?

it took almost 4 hours Shocked

my sob story is the zune would cut off on its own...every few minutes. The last time it just wouldnt turn back on...I unplugged the battery, plugged it back in and got the 3rd screen. It would not do anything else...just got the please wait on the 3rd screen. I let it sit for a couple of days and turned it on today and it went to the 2nd screen were it said to hook it to the computer to update the firmware. So I did that and got an error message...which linked me to the zune site. which said "there is no info on this error message"

so then I deleted and reinstalled the zune software from my PC...and reformatted the zune. Hooked it back up, got another error message.

so now I am stuck on the 2nd screen that says I need to update the firmware Mad Mad and now I have to hear everyone say "I told you to get an ipod" Rolling Eyes

I just had to press BACK+LEFT+CENTER right as it was coming on (before the loading bar shows) and it worked the first time. Reinstalled the firmware and as good as new.

Actually it wasn't my Zune I had to reset it was a friend's. When he first installed the firmware it screwed up because his PC is (was) VERY slow (it's dead now). The only problem with the Zune itself that I've had is the fact that the MB got fryed, but that was my fault.
