When I plugged my Zune120 into my PC for the first time, I saw that I only had 111.54 GB available for my own content. I know that the preloaded content took some space but no way they took 9.46 GB, including the firmware in the device. Did this happen to you?

I dunno, these numbers seem about right to me between the preloaded content and firmware...

It the same with any HDD device or HDD it keeps a percentage ( usually around 10%) as room for Stuff like Jamezspot said and also a portion of that space is retained for restoring deleted content if you have a drive failure, not so much if you format tho' Smile

Follow up: When my Zune120 is unplugged and I go to check storage, it says i have 111.54 gb free but when it's connected to my PC and I check its status on the software, it shows I have 118.78 free. Anyone know the reason for the mismatch?

Its because the device will only show you the amount of space available to fill with media, when plugged in to a PC/Laptop it shows the total storage space availiable if it were a drive....i think. The inbox thing is irrelavent because unless you have tracks in it it doesnt count toward space used as the inbox function is part of the reserved space within the OS
