Zune 3.0 upgrade

Has anyone had trouble upgrading to the 3.0 software upgrade? I cant get my software to update. Ive tried downloading it from the zune homepage, and going through the zune software but everytime I try to install it, it freezes on the searching for updates section. Ive also tried installing it with my wireless off but i get an error message saying that it cant be installed.

does anyone know about a work around to get the 3.0 installed on my computer?

What Operating System are you running? if you are running Vist, try right clicking on the Zune setup file then properties/compatibility/run in win XP compatibility mode.If not, is your O/S a dodgy version as Vista software sometimes has issues with running on pirated copies of windows operating systems. just a few thoughts

I'm running Windows XP home edition. I have to admit my computer is a bit outdated and several years old, but ive always kept up with the driver updates. I also had an issue updating my zune firmware when I first bought it. I had to download the software to my laptop which is also running XP but is much newer, adding my zune as a guest, update the firmware then bring it back to my desktop to connect with the software. Once I did that i never had any problems... until now trying to get the 3.0 software upgrade.

This sounds like a similar problem that my friend had. He bought a 30 GB Zune and installed the software, but the Zune wasn't recognized. Eventually we just formatted it and plugged it back in, the firmware updated, and everything worked fine.
