its well built and is a great size to take around and use... the graphics got a nice bump for being integrated in the macbook... fine for my graphic design and a nice feature is the back lit keyboard... weighs 4.5 pounds and the battery says 5 hours but ill get probably 3 to 3.5 working on anything
2.4 GHz is pretty damn fast with 4Gb of 1066MHZ drr3 (ill be adding the ram from 2Gb and probably a hdd/sdd at some point in it life...) 250gb is fine and i have two external 2.5 inch 160Gb hdd's
idk... its pretty much a macbook pro in a macbook case...
and as for sony's z series $1899.00 for a spec'd machine as close as i could get... and thats before a new copy of vista would have to be installed over the crap ware...
the sr series is a joke in a few ways... $1394.99 and i get something very close to the macbook... but sony was having a special on a few items i checked on for this... you can only get 32bit business and 64 bit vista with downgrade disks... WTF?
i like the sonys but the z is crazy expensive... i would get a pro for that money and the sr isn't that great to begin with... if there was a cross between it would be gold _________________

I would step up to the pro just for the graphics chipset. And the Vaio Z is ridiculously expensive for what you get.

Dude, I thought I beat up my laptop. All I did was drop it once. Of course, that one time had to be when I dropped it on the round end of the power cord when it was plugged in. _________________

idk... the 9400 M is pretty good on its own... im not going to play any games on it besides starcraft 2 when that launches... but you tihnk i would be fine with the 9400 M or the 9600
to be honest i would run th 9400 all the time in the pro... adobe illustrator is the only thing i would consider to use it with... but thats barely an improvement... i need cs5 to use the GPU... starcraft 2 is the only tihng i would use it for... but is it worth the money? idk of any other games to really play because im not a pc gamer
btw... i can game on OS X but i would probably install windows under boot camp... i really don't need Linux (though i really love it) if i have OS X _________________

i typed it wrong, what i meant was;
OSX is more locked up then Windows, which is alot... and Linux is 100% open, if you want you can even recode and fuck up the kernal... _________________

that depends what you do
and one thing i know you cant do (maybe at all) is customise the look of it with 3rd party apps like you can with XP/Vista _________________
