vista is better than XP. but one thing u groms have to bear in mind.
vista is doing alot more in the bkground than XP, just like XP compared with 98/2000.
therefore the games u want will run perfectaly wel, u just need more RAM for them to run properly, same story with 2000 to XP. not that any of u kids remeber the transition... _________________

Are you serious? I remember the transition just like yesterday. Not everyone was anxious to jump to Windows 2000, but nearly everyone flocked to XP, and people stayed on XP for around 6 years now.
And you're right, in order to run Vista at its peak with other apps, you'll need a couple of gigs. _________________

yeah im serious. and i know the changefrom 2000 to XP, but with XP there were adverts for it (i rember them!) and it was ground breaking...
the problem is that 2D desktop enviroments have hit amost the peak of what they can do. the new mac osX is "much better than vista" but in actual fact its almost identical and the change from tiger to leprd is minimal... just like xp to vista..
the next big shake up will be from vista/xp to Windows 7. as windows 7 will be (apparentaly) fully 3D and have no start button ...even better no disc drive letter's !! yay!! _________________

true... very true
but i also heard windows 7 will be entirely new, everything from the internet
possibly the os as well
and what i didn't get was them releasing 2000 , ME, then XP which kicked both their asses in the long run... doesn't make much sense
no drive letters is cool but not ground breaking (or i don't understand why) what about every app that needs a drive letter... _________________

its going to use a much better much more effiecent and reliable file system. there was an artical on it in PCPro magazine, they have a website...
and they wont revolutionise the web as web 2.0 is out already, and vista is already IPv6 ready...
apparentaly Windows 7 is due out in 08/09...but as we all know...its probaly gona be 2010 b4 we see anything.
think of Vista as a half way house from 2D to 3D....
ive yet to be conviced of any 3D desktop interface, and ive not seen any that actualy work better than the 2D enviroment on XP.... but im willing to be open minded. _________________
