interestingly enough i have found the Microsoft Mice have the same type of "tank like" engineering. i have owned so many different mice and most of them have fallen victim to the crushing depths of my laptop bag. the ones that last the longest and usually never do break (i still have many of my original mice and they work just fine) are my Microsoft Mice. usually the only reason that i get a new mouse is it doesn't have a feature that i want or something similar.

Food for thought.

I've moved on, and its more than just pronunciation...

...and this story has more to do with the strength and resilience of the leather case ur zune was in, rather than the zune's strength. altho granted that did play its part, but then any other 30gb mp3 player would have given similar results, given those situations.

Actually, I've had my Zune since Christmas 2006 and I've dropped it so many times it's not funny and it still works perfectly. I never bought any of the cases for it, I just keep it in my back pocket or in a purse or jacket pocket. It's gotten wet, been dropped on pavement, stone tile in my apartment, gravel and on the subway train. Somehow, I haven't killed this thing yet. There are scratches on the outside but the screen doesn't have a scratch on it. LOL. And I also forget it's in my back pocket sometimes and I sit on it and it's fine. I love this thing. Let me just add (for any naysayers) that I've always had portable music (cassette players, CD players and a Dell DJ) but I managed to screw up all but one of those (the Sony sport Walkman CD player I had for years and gave away when I bought the Dell DJ) in a year or less. I love this more than my first Xbox 360 (which died after 16 months of use but had random issues before it's death).

Am I the only person in the US with an Xbox 360 from the first lot that hasn't sent it in due to the RRoD?

Anyway, that's another good story. All those things you did to your Zune probably would've murdered other players. Cool

You know what? I didn't even get the red rings of death. I think the airport security screwed it up when I flew to L.A. for Christmas. But I'd flown with it before (always in my carry-on stuff) but this time they like super swept for bombs. It was kinda funny. So then it just stopped playing any games on disc but it could play ones that were downloaded to my hard drive. I moved it into my bedroom to use as a DVD player (my still working original Xbox was previously being used in that capacity) when I bought a new 360 arcade (just swapped out the hard drive) and then it wouldn't even start up completely. LOL. I don't even know. It's a paperweight at this point. I'll call MS eventually, or see if someone local can repair it for cheap.
