can't install software!!

I've just bought a zune and ive been trying to install the softwarefor two days now! I download the software from www.zune.net/setup, and run tthe program but then the software hangs on the checking for updates step. After about 20 minutes the software tells me that it can't connect to microsoft and shuts down. I've tried re-downloading the software package numerous times over the course of the last two days and I still can't install!

I'm running a wireless connection on my desktop and am obviously connected to the internet when I try to install the software. I have no problem getting onto the internet even while the software is installing.

Try disable ALL Firewalls, and Virus Protection programs.

yeah that should prob help. i had the same problem for awhile then it hit me to do wat pezboy is talkin about. should work for ya man

Thanks for the tips. I finally got frustrated and disabled my wireless connection. Installed perfectly, but.. then I couldnt get my device firmware updated. (yeah I turned wireless back on). I loaded the software onto a different computer and brought it back to the original computer i tried at first and havent had any problems since then.
