Even an e-mail would be pretty nice. But I message people on the Social all of the time (I used to think I was the only person that listened to Roger Waters, but there are others out there. Probably around the 60-year-old range though) _________________

ROFL, that's hilarious. Anything at this hour is though.
Anyway, that would be a handy feature, but it would be reliant of someone else having their wireless on. Not likely in my 'hood. _________________

the only way for the social to actually work is for Microsoft increase the battery life and force you to have the wifi on all the time...
and then get more sold _________________

| Or make the wireless less active and send short "pings" out and other Zunes could passively lesson for the ping and alert you if a Zune is near by. |

| Microsoft's R&D department for the Zune should take note. |

It could play through your headphones. Of course, that may easily mesh in with your music. _________________

No when you are lessoning to the Zune it will "beep" threw the headphone.
lol I found a 6-Volt lantern battery and took it apart. Then I taped the battery's cells to a table at lunch. It looked a hell of a lot like a bomb to me and my friends but it was there for 2 days and no one said a thing. |

now that would be a clever idea... and it would actually make ppl use it ALOT more often for sure. it actually seems like a no brainer _________________

sucks, to be, you.
i think the ping idea is nice..but honestly i can't see the zune team making any use of the hardware they have...I mean so far they have changed the software so it dose less....allowed us to totally rape our battery with wireless sync, and now we get games.... this team clearly doesn't plan on giving us a decent music player, and instead just a device full of gimmicks that don't work as well as they should and instead of them being full of options (like most MS programs) there are less options and so less functionality, and so it looses what makes MS different from Apple
oh and....
