I just bought a Sony MiniVault 8GB flash drive yesterday. I actually bought it to try out the Readyboost in Vista. To actually see if ReadyBoost Works.
Has anybody else (with vista) tried ReadyBoost? It has actually helped increase performance with my laptop by a little bit. |

I read a CPU article about ReadyBoost that says it increased boot time, and performance remained the same. I guess it's kind of a spotty thing. _________________

I guess so, I haven't really seen much improvement when booting up my system. I usually don't watch it boot up anyways. I just turn it on and walk out of the room for like 20 secs and it is up and running.
I have done a few performance improvements besides readyboost. Like disable a few startup programs, disabled UAC, turned off some of the visual enhancements, turned off a few window features and turned my power setting to performance (I noticed big improvements when I did, though my laptop gets hot really quick).
All I know is if I had AERO on with Flip3d and junk, it would OWN my laptop lol. |
