signed up here specifically to get more info on zune modding. i've checked out a bunch of other sites/forums and found that this is one of, if not, the best.
i've got a specific issue that i'm going to be searching the forums about. i have a 30gb that i upgraded to a 60gb, along with a new mainboard. now that i connect it, the device isn't recognized. i've tried just about everything i can think of, restarting, resetting, and reconnecting the zune, restarting the comp, uninstalling/reinstalling software, new sync cable. i must be missing something.
if anyone can point me in the right direction around here for a possible solution, i'd really appreciate it. i certainly don't want to send it into repair, but if nothing else, oh well. |

| well, when i connect it to the comp, it powers up and stays at 'connect your zune to pc'. i am able to reset it, but only with the sync cable connected; end even then, it still only goes that far. |

1. uninstall zune driver and zuneplayer(make sure you back up you songs&vids)
2. unplug zune from pc. install zuneplayer first.
3. then plug in your zune. it should promote you a new device been found, and should intall the driver automatically.
4. if it doesnt, go to device manager, you should find zune as an device(not sure under which), click on it, and you should find something about intalling driver.
5. then unplug zune, open zuneplayer, plug in zune. it should works. if not, restart your computer, and try this step again.
6. if it still not working. plug the cable into another USB port, plug in zune. working? no, then unplug zune, unintall zune driver and replug zune, now you are back to step 3.
i just had same problem, and its now solved. but it only work with just 1 USB port ... but its on the back panel, so i dont care much. |
