SSD makes operating systems boot insanely fast. Sometimes the load screen on XP doesn't even show when loaded on a SSD. _________________

ok well boot up times on my xps is fast as hell.... and only shut it down when i want to boot into ubuntu...
but when i press the hibernate button to turn it off... then turn it on with the same button it comes on the login screen instantly, so my machine might have that 1gb flash thing... but I'm not sure _________________

idk, if you take the back panel off, and see a memory card looking thing stick up your WWAN or WPAN port, then thats the FCM.
how much memory on your 1330? |

or does it even increase performance?
anyways, i order mine today ... still have to wait til monday to confirm my credit card tho. but im excited.
T8300 2.4GHz
2GB ram (will be 3 GB after i have it)
8600m GT 256mb vram DDR2
160GB HDD
bluetooth
remote
9-cell battery (thanks to bald) |
How are you planning on upgrading the RAM to 3gigs?
Don't go 2gig stick/ 1gig stick to equal the 3 gigs, i'm sure its prolly a 32-bit OS so 3.1gigs is all it will read but its better to go 4gigs instead of mixing the sticks. Most laps and desktops support dual channel and eventhough XP/vista 32-bit and won't see the full 4gigs, it will still run them in Dual channel mode and increase its speed. |
