I've used the 13" model before (it was a 1370), it didn't feel all that cheaply made. Of course, neither did my DV8000. I like the chipset in the XPS though a lot better. _________________

i got the 13" coz i wanted the small one, and yeah its really pretty well built, and comes with its own little bag thing... i only have a few issues with it....
1. the screen bolt is loose and so the screen wobbles
2. the touch screen buttons to eject the DVD/CD drive are the only buttons to eject it, which makes installing other OS's 'interesting' (like OSx86 and Lunix distro's)
but its pretty cool, mine came with a remote, and if i would you I'd get the super long life battery as Ive had my laptop running for over 5 hours with that bad boy, _________________

my laptop weighs about 6 pounds... not to bad... and my friend who got a macbook and has now become a fanboy for apple, picked up mine and just goes wow yours is so much heavier than mine...
i was like bitch its .5 pounds heavy than your macbook...
its all about how you look at it... but to be fair anything in the 17 inch area gets just to heavy carry with... _________________

My laptop weighs a cool 8.1 lbs. It's a desktop-replacement class though.
Or an FF-Class as I like to call it. _________________

I know how you feel man, i have a Toshiba Satellite thats about 8-10 lbs. Its a good laptop, but its alittle too big for me, its ment for multimedia, with a 17" monitor. on a laptop thats too much. |
