hello,
a few days back my zune frist gen 30gb fall on cement floor from a hight of approx one mtr. since the it is showing "contact support" error message.
also it was givin the ticking sound that is given by bad hard drives.
so i decide to change the hard drive. as in my country there is no hd avalible.i tried the apple ipod vedio hd disk 80gb. but on connecting its show me the message clearing contents. i waited for two three hrs but status was as it is .
well according to site rapidrepair both zune and ipod vedio have same drives.
well , if any one one has formated his zune plz tell me who much time it take to format or show clearing contents message.
well please tell me what the problem is . has any one tried this before.
is there any way i can use my 30 gb hard drive again |

| if i remebered right, the 80GB hdd take a hack a lots of time to be formated when putted in zune. so connect the hdd, and wait until it cleared the content. charge it while its clearing the content tho. if it still showing the same thing after 20hrs, then im not sure whats wrong with it. |

nothing happened? then leave it on for more time ...
also, if you have an hdd external enclosure, rig it up, connect to your pc, and format it from pc. but zune will still format it again after this, but i believe it would take much shorter time. |
