| My computer got a virus that wiped my HD and I installed Ubuntu so it would hopefully not happen again.I got my Zune maybe a week or 2 after I installed Ubuntu. It won't read on my computer when I plug it in.I heard that the Zune program won't work on anything but WIndows. Is this true?If not where can I find an alternative? |

You could either try to run it through WINE or install a Windows XP partition for Zune syncing. The second option is what all Mac users have to do.
It should have started charging, I charge my devices in Linux all of the time. _________________

There you go. I never had a need for WINE, because I not only have a Windows partition, but many programs I use are power editing programs that are not compatible with WINE. The Zune app *should* be compatible though. _________________

Yeah, the Zune software doesnt work in Linux, even with WINE. My friend had the same problem. He got a virus and I gave him an Ubuntu CD, but the zune software wouldn't run. So then I made him an XP CD. Problem solved. _________________

I have WINE i'm just not entirely sure how to run the Zune software on it.Will it even be worth it or will it be Lagfest 03'?I read the post under yours too and he said it doesn't work. |
