|
|
I decided to make a thread with quick reference to all of the button combinations of the Zune device to view in one spot. If I am missing any please reply to this thread of PM me.
Sleep (Standby):
Hold Play
Hold Play until screen goes blank, will remain in a standby "sleep" mode until a button is pressed. While in standby, your Zune will continue slowly drain your battery but will keep info such as what song you where playing, picture you were looking at ect..
Shutdown:
Hold Down + Back
Hold Down on the directional pad and Back until screen goes blank. Your Zune is now fully powered off, and will not use any battery power while it remains turned off. When a button is pressed, it will start up and load from its boot screen.
Restart:
Hold Up + Back
Hold Up on the directional pad and Back until screen goes blank. Similar to the "Shutdown" method above, but your Zune will automatically start up after a complete power down.
Reformat Hard drive:
Shutdown, Hold Left + Center + Back
Warning! This will completly reformat your Zune device, wiping all the music , movies, pictures, and files you have stored on its hard drive. Proceed with caution.
First do a complete Shutdown. The while your Zune is off press and hold left on the directional pad, the Select (center) button of the D-pad, and Back. Your Zune will now give you a message indication that it is wiping its drive. After completing this you must connect your Zune to your computer and re-update firmware and transfer your music. _________________

Here's another one ...
Haduken:
Back, Back, Right
Press Back, Back, and Right in rapid succession. Your Zune will send a ball of energy to any nearby Zune via the wireless connection knocking about 25% off it's battery life. |

For the longest time, I thought the play button shut it off, but It only put it in sleep...
When I found out a few months ago, I was relieved because I had been wondering how I was losing my battery life while it was off. _________________
