For some reason, I can't enter the chat on the website. Each time I click on the link on the home page, it takes me to a new page that is completely blank, aside from the banners and ads and such.

I use an up-to-date version of Mozilla FireFox (Version 2.0.0.4). I have plenty of Add-ons installed, such as Flash, Java, and all of that.

I have no firewall or internet security, since the PC home security products don't work anyway.

Anyone know what my problem is? I'm sure it's something simple that I somehow missed.

Thanks.

Dude, NO INTERNET SECURITY??? Laughing Laughing

Wow, where have you been in the past 10 years? I couldn't help with the problem though. I'm also running the latest version of Firefox and I'm not having any problems. The only thing different about my setup is the INTERNET SECURITY!!!

Seriously though, Google AVG Antivirus or Zonelabs Security Suite.

As for spyware, I have that under control. I go through my system files, cookies, cache, system files, startup line, system setup, and sometimes even the registry to kill off spyware.

Now, as for internet security, I do have one piece of freeware, but I don't know if it's worthy enough to be considered a security program. It's PeerGuardian 2. Since a "friend of a friend" of mine, if you know what I mean, likes to download things illegally via bittorrent on my PC, PeerGuardian 2 is designed to keep all those anti P2P companies and peoples from tracing you and it turns out that it actually gets the job done with no problems. It is also designed to block spyware and viruses.

The secret is it works by blocking things via IP rather than messing up your ports. So, when it comes to blocking spyware and viruses, it blocks the distributors, websites, programs, you name it, from connecting to or from your PC and thus makes it impossible for an automated system to invade your computer. It has stopped dozens of viruses for me before and continues to do so. None-the-less, its primary design does not fall under the category of anti-virus or anti-security. Plus, unlike any security software I've ever seen, it takes up virtually no RAM (it's Mem Usage never goes above 2,000 K).

Not sure if that counts in your book as security, but I don't think it quite cut it in mine. I consider home internet security more like a generic phrase for programs that focus only on blocking and stopping viruses and such.

Looks like I didn't have a problem after all. Turns out that chat has actually been down for a while. Guess that explains everything, seeing as how I can now view the page.

I'll try using chat when I have more time.
