What 3rd party encoder do you guys use ?

I use Total Video Converter: http://www.effectmatrix.com/ which does a great job it takes about 45 mins to convert a 30 min video the only small thing is that you see artifacts on black not much but enough for myself to notice. encoding time can be less if you go down on the settings, I have high quality option enabled and a bit rate at 512.

What are some the encoders you others are using and what are the results

The one built into the Zune Software, and yes, I know it sucks...
But then I also use imtoo for DVD Rips, and it automatically converts, as it rips...its fricking awesome!

I use WINAVI Video Converter to convert my AVI movies into WMVS.
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/WinAVI_Video_Converter
Takes about 40mins - 1Hour to convert a movie.

and when i want to convert a flash video into WMV i use FLV UNiversal Converter =D

yeah doesn't make sense for a video player to lag while playing video... but then again its Microsoft...

I tried Cucusoft to encode with and Total Video Converter is alot faster so I going to stick with it but quality wise cucusoft is better, it encoded a vid with less artifacts than TVC damn near close to the original file also I learned how to widescreen on zune thanks to Zunerama Ed on the zunerama board
